Your First Visit - What Should You Expect?

Paperwork:

As with any doctor's visit, there will be some paper work for you to fill out. This is to help us help you! If you will be filing for worker's compensation or an insurance claim, please bring all relevant information with you. Our friendly staff is available to assist you with the paperwork and answer any questions you may have.

Exam:

The doctors will be able to decide how in-depth of an exam is needed after reviewing the paperwork you so nicely provided us with. They will use this time to get to know you and clarify any questions they may have about your medical history. They will also be happy to answer any questions you may have about chiropractic care in general and the adjustments that you will be receiving.

X-rays:

In some cases, the doctors may decide that an x-ray is unnecessary. However, most of the times they will take some pictures of your spine to better help them determine what they can do to help you. While your x-rays are being developed, the staff will show you a short informational video.

Adjustments:

The thought of being adjusted can make some people nervous. However, I am here to tell you there is no reason to be! The doctors have been practicing chiropractic for 32 years and are completely capable and professional. Adults and children alike are put to ease by their attitudes and kind, gentle demeanors. You will be asked to sit and lay on one of the adjustment tables, and the doctor will then apply gentle pressure to the parts of the spine that needed to be coaxed into place. If you are still nervous about the adjustment after talking to the doctors, you can ask that a staff member be given an adjustment while you watch, so that you can fully understand the process.

Your Financial Plan:

The doctors or one of the staff members will sit down with you to discuss the billing process. They will explain the number of visits and time needed to get you healthy, and the financial obligations that accompany those visits. You can discuss with them any concerns you may have about these obligations with the knowledge that everything you say will be held confidential.

A New Appointment:

You will walk out our doors with at least one more appointment already scheduled. This follow-up is very important since your muscles and spine need to be slowly trained to stay in their new, healthy position. After your first visit you may feel some minor pain. This is normal! Keep in mind: your spine, even though it is now adjusted to where it should be, is not used to being in that position. It will take a little time for it to be truly comfortable in its new home.
