The
picture shows Grandma
Myrta at 100, still just as sharp as ever. Born in
1899 and lived until 2004, she lived in three different
centuries. She used to take a horse and buggy to high school
and watch in amazement as we landed men on the moon. She remembered
when no one had a telephone and lived to see the day that most people
had hooked on their belt or tucked in their purse. She had a lot of
great sayings:
"Good better best, never let it rest, til the good is better and the better is best"
"If wishes were horses, beggers would ride"
If something was right in front of you and you were looking for it, she would say "If it was a horse, it would have bit you"
During her life time, she made 10,000 batches of cookies of the best cookies in the world for her grand kids. She made absolutely awesome potato/egg salad and a wonderful chicken dinner.
She lived to be 105 and never took any medication. Her only daughter married a chiropractor and chiropractic was her sole source for health care. She got adjustmented frequently, and until her eventual decline from old age was hardly ever sick.
