Muscle Spasm
Muscle spasms can be defined as the contractive state of a muscle somewhere
between normal tone and muscle cramp(complete involuntary contracture). Most everyone
has experienced muscle cramping in a calf, hamstring, or quadracep. This is a very
painful condition that gets our immediate attention. Muscle spasm, on the other hand,
may be very subtle, give little or no pain, and be relatively easy to ignore. Many
of the patients we see have muscle spasm. Often, through the skill of palpation,
we can go right to this spot, press on it, and illicit a pain response. Very often the
patient will say "how can you find those spots" or "I didn't even know that was sore."
Chiropractic care is designed to normalize the function of your muscles, and
in doing so, eliminate muscle spasm.
This is a work in progress, come back in a couple of days for more info. Thanks!
